Energy Drink Industry Marketing
TINA.org together with the UConn Rudd Center for Food Policy & Health notified the energy drink industry of certain deceptive and unfair marketing tactics that are prevalent in the industry. Such tactics include marketing energy drinks to children despite the fact that the products are not intended for minors and may be harmful to them; failing to properly disclose that the products are only intended for healthy adults; making unsubstantiated and unapproved health claims about its products; and using deceptive social media influencer marketing.

The Natural Products Association sends TINA.org a letter regarding its investigation of energy drink companies.

TINA.org and the Rudd Center send letters to more than 40 U.S. energy drink companies notifying them of deceptive marketing trends in the industry and urging them to review their marketing to ensure compliance with the law.
