In November 2017, a class-action lawsuit was filed against East West Tea Company for allegedly misleadingly marketing Yogi Green Tea Kombucha as containing “Organic Kombucha” and “supply[ing] antioxidants to support overall health” when, according to plaintiffs, the green tea does not contain any kombucha at all and does not provide the advertised health benefits. (Cohen et al v. East West Tea Company, LLC, Case No. 17-cv-2339, S. D. CA.)
