Xtreme Wellness Tortillas

August 2016: A federal judge granted final approval of a settlement agreement in which the company agreed that several varieties of Ole Xtreme Wellness! Tortilla wraps will not contain partially hydrogenated oils for at least ten years.

October 2014: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Ole Mexican Foods, Inc. alleging, among other things, that the company misleadingly markets Xtreme Wellness tortillas as healthy when the tortillas actually contain dangerous levels of partially hydrogenated vegetable oil (PHVO), which contains artificial trans fat and causes cardiovascular heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and Alzheimer’s disease. (Guttmann et al v. Ole Mexican Foods, Inc., Case No. 14-cv-4845, N.D. Cal.).
