Wholesome Pantry Vanilla Almondmilk
Allegations: Deceptively marketing that vanilla is the characterizing flavor in products without disclosing that they also contain other flavoring ingredients
In October 2020, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Wakefern Food Corp. for allegedly misleadingly marketing that the flavoring ingredient in Wholesome Pantry Coconutmilk is vanilla when, according to plaintiffs, the ingredients list reveals that the product contains unspecified “Natural Flavors” and no vanilla ingredient. The complaint also alleges that the company misleadingly represents that the coconutmilk contains “No Artificial … Flavors” when, according to plaintiffs, the product contains the artificial flavor vanillin.
