In February 2017, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Vitamin Shoppe alleging that its St. John’s Wort Extract dietary supplement did not contain the amounts of standardized extract hypericin (the sole active ingredient) listed on its label. (Pratico et al v. Vitamin Shoppe, Inc., Case No. 17-cv-899, N. D. IL.)
