Trip Insurance Policies from American Airlines

In 2016, a false advertising class-action lawsuit was filed against American Airlines for allegedly misleadingly marketing trip insurance policies (that protect customers if their travel plans change) as being sold by a third party, Allianz Global Assistance, when the insurance policies are, according to plaintiffs, actually sold by American Airlines, which receives a profit each time a policy is sold. (Zamber et al v. American Airlines, Inc., Case No. 16-cv-23901, S.D. Fla.)
