September 2016: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Pfizer for allegedly mislabeling certain Total Hydration ChapStick brand products as “100% NATURAL” and “Clinically Proven” to provide “healthier,” “more youthful looking lips” when, according to plaintiffs, the products contain synthetic ingredients and there are no competent or reliable studies to support the company’s “clinically proven” claims. (Tyman et al v. Pfizer, Inc., Case No. 16-cv-6941, S. D. NY.)
