Class Action

Speak and Speak Smooth

March 2015: Plaintiffs voluntarily dismissed this lawsuit. The reasons for the dismissal have not yet been disclosed.

January 2015: A class-action lawsuit was filed against NourishLife, LLC for allegedly falsely marketing the dietary supplements Speak and Speak Smooth. According to the complaint, the company’s marketing materials represent that the products can improve speech and treat verbal apraxia and communication deficits in children who have developmental conditions, including autism spectrum disorders, when such claims are not supported by competent reliable scientific evidence. The complaint also alleges, among other things, that the company uses parent testimonials to promote its supplements without adequately disclosing that the endorsing parents received complimentary products from the company, and that the company promoted the products through another website — apraxiaresearch.com — without adequately disclosing that NourishLife owned, developed, and operated the site. (Basque et al v. NourishLife, LLC, Case No. 15-cv-00025, N. D. FL.).
