South State Bank’s Fees
In May 2020, a class-action lawsuit was filed against South State Bank for allegedly misleadingly representing that it charges only one overdraft or non-sufficient funds fee on a single transaction when, according to the complaint, the bank charges additional fees every time a transaction is processed for payment resulting in multiple fees on a single transaction. (Fludd et al v. South State Bank, Case No. 20-cv-1959, D.S.C.)
