In February 2018, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Simple Mills Inc. for allegedly misleadingly marketing its Almond Flour Crackers to make consumers believe that the exclusive flour ingredient in them is almonds when, according to the plaintiffs, the most predominant ingredient in the crackers is a “Nut and Seed Flour Blend” of almonds, sunflower seeds, and flax seeds. (Sanabria et al v. Simple Mills Inc., Case No. 18-cv-809, E. D. NY.)
