July 2016: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Sundial Brands and Nubian Heritage alleging that they market the Shea Moisture and Nubian Heritage brands of hair growth products as able to promote hair growth when, in reality, the products do not stimulate or cause hair growth. (Padilla et al v. Sundial Brands LLC and Nubian Heritage, Inc., and Does 1-25, Case No. 16-cv-4193, N. D. CA.)
