January 2020: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Reliance Worldwide Corp. and Home Depot for allegedly misleadingly marketing SharkBite water heater connectors as reliable, leak-free, and easy to use when, according to plaintiffs, the rubber lining in the connector prematurely deteriorates due to a defect, which causes damage to plumbing and appliances and contaminates water. (Montag et al v. Reliance Worldwide Corp. and Home Depot U.S.A., Inc., Case No. 102117805, Florida State Court – Palm Beach County)
