Prices at Canteen Vending Machines
August 2018: This case was transferred from state court to federal court. (Case No. 18-cv-5998, N. D. IL.)
July 2018: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Canteen for allegedly misleadingly advertising the prices of snacks, meals, and beverages sold in its vending machines. Specifically, the complaint claims that the company advertises a specific price for items without adequately disclosing that consumers who pay with a credit card are charged an additional fee, which results in consumers being charged these fees without their consent. (Oliver et al v. Compass Group USA, Inc. d/b/a Canteen, Case No. 2018CH09355, Illinois State Court Cook County)
