December 2016: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Transnational Foods and Conservas Cerqueira for allegedly falsely marketing Pampa octopus products – including Octopus in Garlic Sauce, Octopus in Vegetable Oil, and Octopus in Marinara Sauce – as containing octopus when they actually contain jumbo squid. (Lis Lejbman et al v. Transnational Foods, Inc. and Conservas Cerqueira, S.A., Case No. 16-cv-25023, S. D. FL.)
