October 2016: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Costco for allegedly deceptively packaging Kirkland Signature Premium Chunk Chicken Breast. According to the complaint, the label says the net weight of each can is 12.5 ounces when, according to plaintiffs, each can contains water and only “slightly more than seven ounces of chicken.” (An amended complaint was filed in March 2017.) (La Vigne et al v. Costco Wholesale Corp., Case No. 16-cv-7924, S.D.N.Y.)
