In September 2017, a false advertising class-action lawsuit was filed against American Sugar Refining for allegedly misleadingly marketing the Domino, C&H, and Florida Crystals brands of Organic Agave Nectars as being natural, organic, and containing only one ingredient (organic agave nectar) when, according to plaintiffs, the nectars contain non-natural, non-organic ingredients.
