April 2014: A federal judge dismissed this action When a complaint is dismissed without prejudice, an amended version of the complaint can be refiled. concluding that the plaintiffs failed to meet the heightened pleading standard required for fraud-based claims.

November 2013: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Banfield Pet Hospital for allegedly representing that its “Optimum Wellness Plan” offers savings and discounts for preventive pet care services and products when, according to the complaint, the plan does not provide the promised savings and discounts and the company sells unnecessary pet care to those with the plan.
