In September 2013, consumers filed a class-action lawsuit against Late July Snacks LLC alleging that the company deceived them by representing that several products – including Classic Saltines Crackers, Classic Rich Crackers, Mini Cheddar Crackers Sandwich Crackers, Mini Peanut Butter Sandwich Crackers, Bite Size Cheddar Crackers, and several varieties of multigrain snack chips – contain “organic evaporated cane juice” when they actually contain sugar (also known as cane syrup).
