In December 2019, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Star Snacks Company for allegedly deceptively marketing Imperial Nuts Cashew Snack Mix by listing cashews first to make consumers think that the mix contains mostly cashews when, according to plaintiffs, the mix actually contains more peanuts, and sometimes more sesame chips, than cashews.
