In December 2016, another class-action lawsuit was filed against HP for allegedly falsely advertising printers as having “HP Smart Install” (a feature that allows printers to get installation software automatically from the internet) when, in reality, they do not because the feature was disabled. (Sergi et al v. HP, Inc., Case No. 16-cv-2225, C. D. CA.)
