In October 2020, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Froneri US, Inc. for allegedly misleadingly advertising that Häagen-Dazs Coffee Almond Crunch Ice Cream Bars are dipped in “milk chocolate” when, according to plaintiffs, the ingredients list reveals that the coating contains coconut oil, an ingredient not found in real chocolate. (Yu et al v. Froneri US, Inc., Case No. 20-cv-8512, S.D.N.Y.)
