General Mills settled a 2010 class-action lawsuit against it for $8.5 million in February 2013. The lawsuit alleged that the company deceptively advertised its YoPlus probiotic yogurt as providing additional digestive health benefits over other yogurts. Under the settlement agreement, YoPlus consumers will be entitled to $4 for each item they purchased. (Johnson et al v. General Mills Inc. et al., Case No. 10-cv-00061, C.D. Cal.)
