T-Mobile Home Internet

T-Mobile advertises on its website that existing customers with “any voice line” can get 5G home internet for $40 a month if they bundle their T-Mobile phone plan with a T-Mobile internet plan. As an added incentive, T-Mobile throws in six months of Apple TV+ for free.

Sounds pretty straightforward. Except when one T-Mobile customer attempted to take advantage of the promotion, he said he found that “any voice line” doesn’t mean any voice line.

Specifically, he said he was told his voice line didn’t qualify. But this was only after he signed up for home internet after confirming over the phone with T-Mobile that his voice line was eligible for the promotion.

The consumer said he double-checked with T-Mobile before signing up because his voice line is no longer offered to new customers.

Upon closer inspection of the ad, above, it seems the qualifying phone plans (or voice lines – T-Mobile appears to use the terms interchangeably) are limited to Go5G, Magenta and Essentials. But that doesn’t explain why “any voice line” doesn’t mean any voice line.
