In November 2020, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Monster Energy Company for allegedly falsely marketing that the flavoring ingredient in its French Vanilla Java 300 Triple Shot is vanilla when, according to plaintiffs, most of the vanilla flavor comes from artificial vanilla flavors. (Kushner et al v. Monster Energy Company, Case No. 20-cv-5606, E.D.N.Y.)
