October 2020: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Bimbo Bakeries for allegedly falsely marketing that butter is the only shortening ingredient in Entenmann’s All Butter Loaf Cake when, according to plaintiffs, the ingredients list reveals that the cake also contains soybean oil. Plaintiffs also claim that the cake contains artificial butter flavoring to make consumers think the cake contains more butter than it actually does. (Boswell et al v.
