October 2018: The Cox and Lucas cases were transferred to the multidistrict litigation in California to be heard with the other similar cases. (MDL No. 2777)

September 2018: Two more lawsuits were filed against FCA US, LLC similarly alleging that software in its vehicles cause them to emit more nitrogen oxides (NOx) during normal driving than during testing and violate federal emissions standards. The lawsuits were originally filed in state court and transferred to federal court later in the month. Click on the case information to see the court filings.

May 2018: Plaintiffs filed an amended complaint bringing similar allegations. (In Re Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep EcoDiesel® Marketing, Sales Practices, and Products Liability Litigation, Case No. 17-md-2777, N. D. CA.)

April 2017: Several similar lawsuits regarding the marketing of EcoDiesel vehicles were transferred to one court to be heard together. The complaints allege that the vehicles were marketed as environmentally friendly, fuel efficient, and better performing, as well as having lower emissions than diesel engines when, according to the complaints, they are programmed to control emissions during testing and emit more nitrogen oxide than applicable standards allow during normal driving conditions.
