In February 2019, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Havaianas for allegedly deceptively advertising discounts on merchandise sold at its outlet stores by representing that shoppers are getting a substantial percentage discount off of a fictitious reference price. (Schertzer et al v. Alpargatas USA, Inc., d/b/a Havaianas, Case No. 19-cv-394, S. D. CA.)
