November 2018: A class-action lawsuit was filed against UTZ Quality Foods for allegedly misleadingly marketing Dirty Salt & Vinegar Potato Chips as containing “No Artificial Flavors” when, according to the complaint, the chips contain the artificial flavor malic acid, which the company fails to disclose in violation of state and federal law. (Lepiane et al v. UTZ Quality Foods, LLC, Case No. 18-cv-2659, S. D. CA.)
