Cree’s LED Lightbulbs.
In October 2017, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Cree, Inc. for allegedly falsely advertising its LED lightbulbs by promising that the bulbs will last for up to 35,000 hours and have an estimated lifetime of between 15 to 32 years when, according to plaintiffs, the bulbs do not last as long as advertised. (Young et al v. Cree Inc., Case No. 17-cv-6252, N. D. CA.)
