In July 2020, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Credit Sesame for allegedly falsely advertising that customers have been pre-approved for credit cards and applying for the cards will increase their credit scores when, according to plaintiffs, the customers have not been approved for the credit cards and applying for them will not increase customers’ credit scores.
