In September 2019, a class-action lawsuit was filed against City National Bank of West Virginia for allegedly misrepresenting that it only charges one non-sufficient funds or overdraft fee on a single transaction when, according to plaintiffs, the bank charges additional fees each time that the bank reprocesses a transaction for payment and the payment is rejected due to insufficient funds. (Noe et al v. City National Bank of West Virginia, Case No. 19-cv-690, S. D. WV.)
