In March 2020, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Citizens and Farmers Bank for allegedly misleadingly representing that it charges overdraft fees and non-sufficient funds fees on transactions if an account does not have enough money to cover a transaction when, according to the complaint, the bank charges such fees on certain debit card transactions when there is enough money in the account.
