In June 2019, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Cablevision for allegedly failing to properly notify Optimum customers of changes to its cancellation policy and billing practices that require customers who cancel their Optimum cable, internet, and television services within a billing period to pay for the entire 30-day billing cycle.
