July 2015: A false advertising class-action lawsuit was filed against Nestlé Purina Petcare Company. Specifically, the complaint alleges that the company falsely markets “Beggin” dog treats – including Beggin’ Strips Bacon and Beggin Strips Bacon and Cheese – as being primarily made of bacon when, in reality, bacon is present in only tiny amounts. (Kacocha et al v. Nestlé Purina Petcare Company, Case No. 15-cv-5489, S. D. NY.)
