In October 2017, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Edgewell Personal Care for allegedly falsely marketing Banana Boat Kids MAX Protect & Play sunscreens as having an SPF of 100 when, according to plaintiffs, the SPF of the sunscreens is actually in the 20s. (Keskinen et al v. Edgewell Personal Care Co. et al, Case No. 17-cv-7721, C. D. CA.)
