Babyganics Pre-Moistened Wipes
A false advertising class-action lawsuit was filed against S. C. Johnson and Babyganics in March 2017. The complaint, which was transferred to federal court in April 2017 and amended in July 2017, alleges that the companies misleadingly market pre-moistened wipes as being made from “plant based ingredients” when, according to the plaintiffs, the wipes are made with significant amounts of synthetic plastics. After moving to intervene in a related case (Mayhew v. Babyganics), the named plaintiff voluntarily dismissed his claims When a complaint is dismissed with prejudice, it cannot be refiled., the reasons for which have not been disclosed. (Machlan et al v. S. C. Johnson & Son, Inc. and KAS Direct LLC d/b/a Babyganics, Case No. 17-cv-2442, N.D. Cal.)
