December 2018: This action was transferred to federal court. (Case No. 18-cv-1558, E. D. VA.)
November 2018: A false advertising class-action lawsuit was filed against Volkswagen. Among other things, the complaint alleges that the company deceptively advertises various Audi vehicles as being environmentally friendly and having low emissions levels that comply with federal and state laws and regulations when, according to plaintiffs, the vehicles are programmed to detect when they’re being tested so that they have reduced emissions during testing but not during actual driving.
