November 2018: A class-action lawsuit was filed against the marketers of ASUS laptops with USB 3.0 Gen 1 ports for allegedly falsely advertising that the laptops are capable of transferring 5 gigabits of data per second when, according to plaintiffs, the laptops’ USB ports transfer data at less than half of the advertised speed (or about 2,160 megabits per second).
