April 2016: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Church & Dwight Co. for allegedly deceptively packaging Arm & Hammer™ liquid detergent products to make it appear as if consumers are buying more than they actually are. According to the complaint, the company uses non-transparent plastic bottles that contain at least 14% empty space. (Riedel et al v. Church & Dwight Co., Inc., Case No. 16-cv-2093, E. D. NY.)
