In December 2018, two false advertising class-action lawsuits filed against Whirlpool Corp. were consolidated to be heard together. The complaints allege that Whirlpool falsely markets that the AquaLift® Self-Cleaning Technology in its ovens uses water and low heat to “self-clean” an oven in less than one hour when, according to plaintiffs, AquaLift® does not work as advertised.
