March 2014: This action was transferred to another California court. (Case No. 15-cv-1191, N. D. CA.)

February 2014: Another class-action lawsuit was filed against 23andMe, Inc. for allegedly falsely advertising its Saliva Collection Kit and Personal Genome Service (aka DNA Spit Kit). Among other things, the complaint alleges that the company claims that the product will accurately provide consumers with “health and ancestry information”– including “specific health recommendations” – without evidence to support such claims and without FDA approval. (Dilger et al v. 23andMe, Inc., Case No. 14-cv-00296, S. D. CA.).
