In July 2020, a class-action lawsuit was filed against The Coca-Cola Company for allegedly misleadingly marketing that the characterizing flavor in Vanilla Coke is vanilla when, according to plaintiffs, the ingredients list reveals that the soda contains unspecified “Natural Flavors” instead of vanilla. (Gil et al v. The Coca-Cola Company, Case No. 20-cv-5064, S.D.N.Y.)
