
FTC Files for Injunction as IML Shuts Down
Agency worries MLM defendants are dissipating assets.
In April 2020, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Umpqua Bank for allegedly misleadingly representing that it charges only one overdraft or non-sufficient funds fee on a single transaction when, according to the complaint, the bank charges another fee every time a rejected transaction is reprocessed for payment resulting in multiple fees being charged on the same transaction. (Hayes et al v. Umpqua Bank, Case No. 20-cv-684, D. Or.)
