January 2021: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Unilever for allegedly misleadingly marketing that TRESemmé Keratin Smooth shampoos smooth hair, add softness and shine, prevent frizz and tangling, “deeply nourish,” “gently cleanse,” and “repair hair” when, according to plaintiffs, the shampoos contain one or more ingredients that can cause hair loss and scalp irritation.
