September 2019: A class-action lawsuit was filed against PetSmart for allegedly representing that it is “an industry leader” in petcare and provides “superior care for [] pets” when, according to plaintiffs, its Tiny Tales Homes for small pets (such as hamsters, gerbils, and mice) have soft plastic connectors that are dangerous because the pets chew the plastic and can become sick or escape from the habitats.
