In November 2020, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Newell Brands and Graco Children’s Products for allegedly falsely representing that Graco car seats are new and safe to use for a specific period of time when, according to plaintiffs, car seats may be sold when a significant portion of the usable life has expired and, as a result, they are not safe to use for the time represented. (Schmitt et al v. Newell Brands and Graco Children’s Products Inc., Case No. 20-cv-16240, D.N.J.)
