In March 2018, a class-action lawsuit was filed against The Franklin Institute for allegedly misleadingly marketing the Terracotta Warriors of the First Emperor Exhibit – a collection of life-sized sculptures created around 210 BCE to guard the tomb of an emperor of China – as containing authentic terracotta warriors when, according to the plaintiffs, more than half of the statues are replicas instead of authentic historical artifacts.
