Swisher Sweets Cigarillo Packs

February 2019: A state court judge granted preliminary approval of a proposed settlement agreement that would provide class members who submit valid claim forms with two to five vouchers to use to purchase Swisher cigar products. A final fairness hearing is scheduled for August 9, 2019.

August 2016: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Swisher International and Plaid Pantry for allegedly misleadingly advertising that consumers who buy packages of cigarillos get “5 for the price of 3” when, according to the complaint, consumers could purchase three individual cigarillos for less than the price of the five-pack. (Podawiltz et al v. Swisher International, Inc. and Plaid Pantry, Inc., Case No. 16CV27621, Oregon State Court – Multnomah County)
