In March 2020, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Suffolk Federal Credit Union for allegedly falsely representing that customers are charged only one insufficient funds fee on a single transaction if their account does not have enough money to cover a transaction when, according to plaintiffs, the credit union routinely charges multiple fees on a single transaction.
