Allegations: Falsely marketing that chicken comes from animals that are humanely raised
In December 2020, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Dietz & Watson for allegedly falsely marketing that the flavor in its Smoked Provolone Cheese comes from being smoked when, according to plaintiffs, the flavor comes from an added ingredient (“Smoke Flavor”) instead of from being smoked. (Jones et al v. Dietz & Watson, Inc., Case No. 20-cv-6018, E.D.N.Y.)
